Tabula

Recently I found a gem at China one; a pub in Clark Quay. With the urging of a friend that there is an awesome band, we went there to check it out. It did not start well when they refuse to give up seats unless we open a bottle of Jack Daniels. What a load of bullshit, we were going to get a bottle of Black Label and they still denied us seats. But as usual, my friend manage to charm her way into getting us a seat.

The band; Tabula started to play and boy was they good. They played covers and the lead has a voice which sounds rough but good. You listen to Nickelback, Lifehouse etc...you will like them.

It was a great night of catching up and music. Will definately be back for more!

Morten's Steak

Mention steak to any fan and most likely they will say Morten's Steak. Recently I decided to give it a try after padding my bank account with extra cash (Let's just say you need lots of padding). The place was pretty dim and we had to take a seat at the bar for our seats (even after reservations). But I did not have to wait long before I was ushered to my seat. The service was really good, they really make you feel good that you are going to spend a bomb.

A huge onion bread was placed infront of me. The smell really made me hungry. Upon taking the first bite, I was blown away. It has been some time since I have eaten a bread of such taste and texture. The waiter had to warn me to stop as the mains were the steak afterall. The waiter will come with a tray to display the different cuts of beef and sides they were serving. You decide the cut you want and order sides as it does not come with it. (Please share, the beef steak is HUGE)

We ordered Wild Mushroom and sliced potatoes. There were done perfectly, so good that I can come here just for the sides. The beef was really big and thick; with blood oozing with every cut I made. If was done beautifully, the beef melts with a slight tinge of the roasting. Once you tasted this, you really dont know how to go back to other beef. (I still like Angus at Takashimaya, but it is a whole different experience)

Dessert was the chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream. A dessert which you cannot go wrong with. Need I even describe the heavenly experience everytime one tries it.

Enough said, just go try!

"Me" Time

It has been a long time since I had some along time to recharge. Just some time to bum, chill and basically laze.

So many heartbroken men

Was out meeting my friends from NS and realised we were all heartbroken men. I have my own experiences and as I listen to some of their stories, I realise we are all so ruled by our heart.



Even the strongest love will leave once in a while; even in a serious and deep relationship. Even all the promises made will not mean a thing; afterall they are just words. Sometimes we will fall on the wrong side. Sometimes we are just too scared.

It's that effort to be there for the other even when they are not there. Believing that what you have will some way find the love that was once. Can you be humbled and acknowledge that you are wrong? Being truthful about what is going on deep inside you.

But sometimes when all is said and done, one must know when it is time to come back to reality. Have the courage to move on and not look back. Sometimes it is ok to be selfish, just for yourself since there is nothing left. Sometimes it is alright to make yourself happy and not make the everyone's problem your own. Such is a burden too big for a human.

Tennis no more

テニスをでかなくなります (I used to be able to play tennis)

A really bad case of Golfer's elbow has prevented me from any more tennis. Even if I want to, no more hard hitting tennis. Bad backhand habits has finally caught up with me. Even after resting for so many months, I still feel a slight pain when I do certain actions (Eg. when I gel my hair).

I really missed the game. I hope it recovers soon.

Cute Dog

I hate dogs cause they like to lick me. But this one very cute and lets just say I cannot afford to get on her bad books.

Snail porn

Was walking when I caught sight of to snails getting some action I think. See the white thing in the first photo, I think thats the dart like thing. Interestingly, they are hermaphrodites, individuals contain both male and female sex organs, they do not self-fertilize.

Pump it up

I went to the Pump Room for dinner and drinks. Thought the lighting made this photo really nice. Food was not too bad, beers were interesting. Overall nice place to chill. Happy hour prices are pretty good too.

Just spending some time with her, it could be at some remote island for all I care.

NCC (LAND) Silent Mobilisation

Before I leave, I decided to meet up with some really old secondary school friends from eca. But I have only been contact with a few of them. So I decided to ask them to spread the word for a silent mobilisation at Timbre.

It was really good to catch up with them. It has been so long since I met up with them. As always, all of us changed. Fatter, smater, longer hair etc. Did not get as many people as I thought, well, at least I knew some of them was still contactable but could not make it. I guess it really takes someone to push for a meeting to happen, it just happens that I am leaving soon.

Here are some friends I have spent really tough times with. Some activities we did were even worst than army. I hope to see them after I come back the next time...maybe with kids too. heh!

Danesia

1 year old and counting. I really hope she can call me uncle before I fly. Hahahah!

Japanese Language

A really good friend - Miss V, used to study the Japanese Language. Recently she put the words "あいしてる” (I think is means Loving). So I asked her, "だれがあいしますか” (Who do you love). And because she has not really touched the language for a long time, she was not quite sure what I was asking. She replied trying to tell me that Japanese language is difficult - "にほんごわへんたいです”

On reading her last sentence in Japanese I was stumped *Jaws dropped*. I took a second look and tried to think of all the different grammer structure to decipher the meaning, but alas I could not. I can only understand it in English as "Japansese language is weird" The funny thing is へんたい is usually used to mean weird with sexual nuance. Imagine my shock...almost fell off the chair laughing. Such a mistake comes once in a life time (though I happen to know a person who commits such boo boo frequently.)

But hey, she did not touch the language for some time already. From now, she is Miss Hentai. hahaha!

Was it the right choice

Sometimes I wonder was if it the right decision, especially for her.
