Zoommm....

Met 3 of my outward bound indonesia friends for dinner. How time flies, June 2007 will mark 10 years as friends. One of them has already gone through ROM.

Catching up with them is always no frills. No need long hours, just dinner and drinks. We find out how each of us is doing, who is the the current girlfriends. Somehow the conversation has become more matured. We talk about cars, investments, insurance, car, house, marriage etc.

How do you know they are really your friends? You can meet them annually and still chat freely. I don't warm up easily to people, but for me, it is the quality that counts.

Anyway, congrats BH.

Results and Price

Finally the results are out. I decided to really put in effort into this semester and hopefully I can pull my grades up!

I am pretty satisfied with my results. But some modules I really expected to do well, but the results were below my expectations. The rest averaged at A-, which is good enough I guess. Sometimes I really wish I was smarter, the amount of time spent and the results just does not translate well.

As I look back at what had happened over the last semester and especially over the last month, I wonder if the price to pay for this semester results is too much. What is gone cannot be quatified and circumstances changed how much I valued it. Maybe my view of what happened is wrong. Maybe, maybe not. But that is a lot of maybes for me.

Random thoughts

I have been occupying myself with meeting up my old friends. Especially those I meet once a blue moon. It is good to keep my mind somewhere else. Met up with someone whom I last saw 2-3 years back. But I am glad we can still talk freely. I have many other meetups line up for the next few days. Hopefully I can finish all of them before the term starts.

Was suppose to go Sentosa to play freesbie but the weather was not in our favour. Last minute change of plans to go Mind cafe. My first time there and I must say it is very interesting. They have the weirdest board games which I never hear before. Had great fun and got to know some new people.

Went to the Cage for soccer with my tennis friends. It was a tiring session, worst then tennis. Then we went to play counter strike. We had a BBQ at night with the girls team. Eye opening to see the girls setup the fire and also cooking for the entire night. Weird change of roles.

Fyp is not going too well! Very slow. Stuck at the algorithm. ARGH!!!

Decided to play some Inter Hall Games after some change of personal plans. But still can't commit to trainings. It is unfair to the guys, but if they need me then I will play for the hall. This is my last year afterall.

The weather sucks. I have not touch the tennis racket for a long time. Sigh.

My head is moving in many directions.

Christmas

Christmas at my house is always the same. We will have dinner and the usual exchanging of presents. When we were much much much younger, my aunties will have games for us to play. We have musical chair, treasure hunts, pinning the tail on the donkey etc. As we are all much older, such games don't really amuse us anymore. We are left with, checking out pictures on the computer, surfing the internet etc.

This year we had Jenga and Taboo. The fun of this game is when u play with the aunties. The old folks never fails to crack us up with their weird antics. Like in Taboo, they will use hokkien and actions to describe the words.

Of course what is Christmas without the presents under the Christmas Tree right?
Did you spot anything funny? Yes....the Christmas tree is......... I don't even know what that is.
The little ones were entertaining everyone and keeping us very busy.

Ana is trying to sweep the floor.

Ana loves grapes. But of couse we try not to give her too much of it. That sneaky girl resorted to feeding her uncle one grape and eating one herself, and she did it again and again till I had to take the grapes away. This year dinner was more or less bought. They only cooked the curry, salad. The food is pretty good. Love the crabs.

The aftermath.....
And this year the aunties also got lazy and resorted to using paper plates and cups. To be environmentally friendly, we had to name our cups.
There are 2 birthday babies during the Xmas period. One is before and the other is after Xmas. (Note: the one blowing the candles is not the birthday girl)We have our annual guess the number of presents game. This year the number inflated by alot, I have no idea why. The number of presents is abt 170plus. My aunties love to wrap little presents just in case of I don't know what. I am still wondering how the number got so high, the average is about 120. Below is the counting of presents. My sister is the auditor.

This is the process of giving out the presents. It is always a messy event because my aunties will forget which present is for who. They refuse to put the names on the presents and choose to have some weird numbering system which never works. The history behind this is because last time my cousins and I will go unwrap our gifts before christmas arrives. But we are like in our 20s already!?!?!? Below you can see Ana trying to help, or rather just taking any present in sight and decid

Some random pictures.....

Christmas Eve

It has been a long time I meet the following 2 of my old pals. School and personal life had taken a hold on our individual lifes. And also last time I have easy acess to the car, so we can meet like really late. Now I only have my 2 legs.

Went church with my family. My youngest niece, Danesia drooled over my sleeve and it was all wet. Apparently she loves to do that.

Ana is growing up so fast. She can form baby sentences and it is really interesting to see how sharp she has become.

Sleep not

I used to be able to sleep easily. These few days it takes me on average 1 hour to get myself to sleep. It is really a frustrating feeling.

The worst part is, I wake up early even when I do not need to.

My mind is driving me crazy.

And it just keeps getting "better"

I woke up early, it is a freaking miracle!

Decided to go over the NTU lab to do some work. Since it was so early, I went to a leisure breakfast and coffee before I went up to the lab. There was no once since it is 8am. I on my computer and keyed in the password.

"Wrong password"

FUCK! I only have about 10 different combinations I use, so I tried the various choices and permutate them. But it kept telling me NO ENTRY!

My luck is just getting worst.

FUCK!

Rugby

Why do people play sports like rugby? Sports which the very nature and core of the game is to bring down the opponent in a manner which hurts.

For me, it makes me feel awake. The impact you made when you tackle. The pain you feel when getting tackled. The period where you are running and trying to dodge. It gives a moment where nothing else matters. It pumps the adrenaline. It makes me feel more alive.

Wine overdoes

I found a bottle of old wine. The cork was disintegrating. Oh no....I got to save the wine.

So I drank it - all. It's tough being a superhero.

Exams Over...but

I was looking forward to exams being over. So happy to get out of school, to see the world.

Now I wish I have exams. Feeling so lost. I need something to numb me and keep my head occupied.

It has been a long time

When was the last time I drank so much, so much that I had a hardtime thinking striaght and getting home. I think it was my 21st birthday, but I passed out then. This time I manage to get myself home, showered and slept.

Dammn it, I hate hangovers.

I detest

Fuck...

I hate Coffee Club.
