Day 5

Started the day with breakfast at the nearby Malay store. It is the only one open early in the morning. Tried the mee rubus and my fren tried the nasi lemak, sad to say that both of it sucks. But I must admit the teh tarik was good. Watched 'Black Adder' while waiting for another friend to pick us up. The show was great, really witty.

Met up with Kok for lunch. We bought a viet chicken sandwich which tasted really really good. The bread was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. We ate at a park for lunch which was what people always do over here. I tried Solo and that drink kicks ass.


We went back to chill and play xbox 360 before heading to 'Sam's Thai' for dinner. Let me say that this place serve really delicious food. I had pepper chicken with tofu and egg. Apparently, the people who tired it and went back to singapore still misses the food there. I can really see why; cause the food is amazing.

I went to Fox Studios cause my friends were taking part in a xbox 360 Forza 2 competition. I tried but sucked at it; who cares when I got some freebies. The Quater finals till finals were held in the cinema. It was mindblowing to game on such a big screen.

One last thing, today was very cold....maybe finally winter is coming to Sydney

Day 4

Went off to Watsons Bay and checked out the gay nudist beach. Caught some people sunbathing but did not join them. The view was awesome at the Gap. Lunch was Fish and chips at Doyles. The seafood platter was hugh, I really hope that was not intended for one person. The weather was very chilly today with very strong winds. Even the seagulls were pushed back when they try to set off. And the damn sea gulls ate my chips. The grass is always greener on the other side. That is so true here, the grass here is softer and nicer to sit on. Any small patch of grass, there will be people sitting around.

Manage to take the ferry to Manly. I love that place, it has the same feel as Fremantle in Perth. Very laid back place to go. I chomped on Jester pie which was delicious. The Manly beach was huge, very long. Walked around the place and found a huge Quicksilver shop.


Dinner was at Pancakes on Rocks. Food was great but I was too full for pancake desserts after that. Somehow that defeats the purpose....damn! Will try to make a trip there some other day.

The day ended by chilling out over a bottle of cider.

Day 3: Back to the 70s - Hippie night

Woke up a little later and laze about, just enjoying the cool morning and catching up on stuff online. We decided to give our legs some rest and take it easy for the day. I got a little hungry and decided it was Dominos for lunch! You don't get such good pizzas anymore. Plus you can order it online.

Decided to take a longer walk ard Uni of NSW as my friend was having a short class. Sat on the grass and played a little rugby with some guys. Checked out the canteen which basically is like a hipper food court. They have an area on campus with arcade, pool tables, projector screen screening soccer matches and a chill off vibe to top it all off. Best part is they sell alcohol in the afternoon and you see everyone drinking at 3pm. That's what uni should be!

Tried the bubble tea of Sydney - Easy Way. It is a chain that can be found in many places. It was actually pretty good. Walked around the neighbourhood to check out the daily life in Kingsford.

The entire night was spent relaxing over music, movies, Indo mee, chips and etc. Heard and seen some groovy stuff which made me changed my perspective in all aspect of life. To sum it up, the feel was exactly like a hippie night.

Hello from Sydney

Plane ride over here was not so good. The breakfast was crap; though the wine/beer/Chocolate and sandwich made it bearable. I was surrounded by kids/babies. Lucky I had inflight entertainment. SIA had like 70 over shows to watch.

Weather in Sydney is not as cold as I expected. It is really comfortable to walk. Infact I probably walked 20km in 2 days here. The best part of it all - I don't perspire from the 3 hour walks over here as compared to taking a 5min walk in Singapore. Really have to thank Adam and Mike for showing me ard.

Day 1:
I walked from Coogee beach all the way to Bondi beach and then had a sinful fried mars bar.



Syd has Coke Zero, it taste better than coke light but has the same amount of calories as coke light. How awesome is that, Spore should really bring that in. Dinner was at BBQ City (Korean). Really good food and alcohol. The night was passed by more drinks with a great view of the Habour bridge and Opera house with fireworks. I had a little more alcohol than I shoud; anything after the fireworks was a blur. Glad I did not find myself sleeping naked beside a guy or something like that.


Day 2:
I swear off all vices - no more alcohol etc. Had a hearty breakfast of murtabark and teh tahrik. I walked Circular Quay and visited Habour Bridge and the Opera house. Tried Gelatissimo which was delicious. Went to The Rocks - love the whole vibe and the market there. Lunch was a really hearty vietnam beef noodles. Walked around the Paddy's market which is like pasar malam, did not really like it. Checked out Darling Habour after that. Its a really nice place to chill. Syd Aquarium was really good, quite big in my opinion. Went to check out the Wildlife enclosure too which not too bad. Ate 'turkish on king' for dinner at New Town. The food was great and their chips have chicken salt which makes it even better. Will love to walk ard New Town in the morning one day, really different feel to other place - very hippie feel.

Went back to catch 2 korean movies. I have never been a fan of korean shows. I just stereotype them as melodrama and slapstick comedy. But after the first show - 'Old Boy'; I was blown away. The show was very good, left me reeling in shock and speechless. It really changed my perspective of Korean movies. 2nd show was 'sex is zero', weird combination of slapstick comedy, sex and melodrama. Pretty good with some odd bits here and there.

Kuantan Wreck and the off shore sites of Tioman rocks. Lovely dive, finally starting to be able to find the small and elusive critters. I want to see more! The wreck was awesome, really glad to see healthy marine and coral life around. I want to dive more more more!!!!!

And so my Graduation trip starts. Rich people go dive at exotic locations like Sipadan, Similans etc. I don't have much cash, so I settle for Kuantan Wreck/Tioman.

I will be back late this week, then I will be resting in Singapore for a day before I head to Sydney for 2 weeks. Now now, stop saying I'm rich. I have to beg my friends to let me bunk in their place and somehow con my dad to let me use his flyermiles.

Post Exams

Finally I am done with the exams; hopefully my last one for my degree. Been planning what I want to do for a long long time. Here is a short list which is not exhaustive:

Right now, I have one last lap...the FYP Presentation. After that, I am officially out of university. The past 4 years have literally zoomed past me.


I stepped into the arcade to have a look. Behold, the most interesting game I have seened since Legend of Zelda; Romanace of the 3 Kingdoms live strategy. The player users various cards with key character and fight a war using military strategy. Time to whip out the Art of War. This looks like somethin g SAF will want for their officers.

Invaded

This green bugger sneakily came into my room even though the door opening was really small. I used to catch grasshoppers with my barehands in Primary school and seconday school. Apparently time makes one person balls shrink. I had to use a tissue to catch this particular one and I squirmed when I felt it struggling.

This is not the first living creature that has decided to share my habitat. Moths, Bees, Hornets, Lizard (I think it stays behind my woofer) and other humans

I meant the lead singer of Pussycat Dolls, Nicole Scherzinger. I always thought it was another manufactured band with some tunes and hot girls prancing around. Never knew she could really sing, only know her body is very taut.

For those too young to know, the composer (Yoshiki) is a brilliant fellow. He is the heart of the disbanded band, X-Japan (The soul is Hide) which created some great rock ballads like 'Crucify my Love', 'Endless Rain' and 'Forever Love'; just to name a few (Remember, Youtube is your best friend).

Anyway, I just thought this was a great song to share. Yoshiki has done it again, another ballad filled with so much emotions.

Sniff sniff

Phantom of the Opera was BRILLIANT. So good that I almost teared. The props, the stage, the costumes and the phantom mask were all beautifully done. And I was waiting for the chandellier to smash.

I almost did not manage to watch it this time round due to some circumstances which I shall not elaborate. But luck seems to be on my side when I heard my friend asking if I will like to take over her ticket as she was going overseas. Lucky I know the other person going to the show too. Great company, nice dinner and I got a ride back to hall in a SLK. Had so much fun playing with the GPS system (though weirdly enough, NTU cannot be found).

ahem....

In the midst of the exams

I decided to take a break from the exams. Despite this semester being the most important (if I screw it up, it is one more sem), despite I have not started studying for the last 2 papers.

I got my uni friends to go to Wala Wala for some music. Dinner was at Spizza and as usual, the pizza was fantastic. The band playing was Shirlyn and The Unexpected. They rock as usual! Infact, the rendition of 'Enter the Sandman' was awesome.

Ahh...why can't all my exam timetable be like this.
